H.R. Kirby, Sr. was one of the original employees with Owens-Corning Fiberglass.
Founded Kirby Fiberglass, Inc. in 1946.
His expertise in the manufacture, production and use of glass fibers is the cornerstone of the success of Kirby Fiberglass.
Mr. Kirby, Sr. devoted a lifetime into the development and application of high quality glass fiber roofing products.
Much of his engineering, design and innovation are seen in the glass fiber roofing products that we manufacture and offer to you today.
Dr. Herbert Kirby, H.R. Kirby Sr. and Mrs. H.R. Kirby’s son, was actively involved in the business in his early high school years. After pursuing other careers, and earning several technical degrees including two master degrees and one doctorate, he returned to the family business.
Dedicating himself to growing sales volume he expanded nationwide distribution and into Canada. In 1988 he moved the production and manufacturing plant from Monrovia, CA to its current facility located in Pueblo Colorado.
On January 10th, 2005 we experienced a great loss when Dr. Kirby and Cleve Reeves, a long time friend and maintenance manager of Kirby Fiberglass, Inc. passed away in a tragic plane crash in Little Rock Arkansas.
Naomi Dupre, stepdaughter of the late Dr. Kirby, succeeds in the leadership of Kirby Fiberglass as President/CEO.
As an undergraduate of CSU and MBA graduate of UCCS, Naomi brings with her valuable knowledge as well as management experience from her successful career in Telecommunications Industry prior to working with the late Dr. Kirby in 2004.
